Job Description

CAYA Productions is looking to employ a Studio Manager who is willing to work hard and grow with the company. This job requires a candidate who has some Music/Entertainment Business experience, can relate with clients in a professional manner, multi-task, take initiative, and make calculated decisions that contribute to the growth of the company.

CAYA Productions is a boutique audio post-production facility and upscale recording studio. It provides every service required for all audio-visual projects from start to finish. We provide an immersive auditory experience through recording, sound design, dialogue editing, mixing, mastering, and other audio services for all TV, movie, animation, music, broadcast, gaming, podcast, and new media.

The Studio Manager will work closely with and report to the Founder/Head Audio Engineer. We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to keep our team of technicians and employees, as well as our studio space, operating at a professional level. The studio’s success will count on the studio manager's understanding of the unique demands of each session. We look to hire an individual with strong interpersonal skills who is flexible and capable to meet with the demands of the technology and client interface. The advertised position is for a full-time employment opportunity. After the applicant has completed the interview process, Human resources will communicate scheduling, pay, and other commitments.

 

Work Duties—Studio Manager

o Maintaining functionality of the studio space for daily use

o Acting as first point of contact: Answer all calls and correspondence

o Ensuring accurate billing of customers, maintaining records and documentation

o Enter all session info into studio calendar and confirm schedule with Head Engineer

o Maintain all studio common areas and manage day-to-day supply needs for the studio.

o Opening and closing of the studio daily.

o Coordinating meetings, appointments, correspondence with clients and managing staff schedules

o Be available as a resource for the CEO when completing large projects

o Handle all session set-up for recording, tear down after each session and assist Head Engineer with other session-related tasks

o Preliminary Pro Tools session set-up, supervise and troubleshoot "no-Engineer sessions"

o Marketing and Promotion of the studio

 

Skills and Requirements—Studio Manager

o A bachelor’s degree or equivalent

o Two - Five years’ experience in music industry/ audio administration

o Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Added advantage if proficient in QuickBooks and task management apps like Asana, Google and Apple calendar

o Flexibility and Adaptability

o Excellent organizational and time management skills

o Must have familiarity with the recording process and equipment

o Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

o Excellent people skills

o A knowledge of standard software (audio) packages and the ability to learn company-specific software as required.

o Self-starting, resourceful collaborator with strong ability to identify problems and create solutions

Assistant Audio Engineer

The Assistant Audio Engineer will work closely with and report to the Studio Manager. The position requires the applicant to have extensive knowledge of audio and signal flow and use several DAWs and plug-ins. Working knowledge of Pro Tools, Logic, and Izotope is a plus. We look to hire an individual with a strong work ethic, organized, able to work well with clients, great at troubleshooting, and has a flexible schedule. He/She should be able to work long hours and weekends when necessary. The advertised position is for a full-time employment opportunity. o Communicate with the artiste, director or producer to understand their artistic vision for each session

o Set up and test audio equipment including microphones and the speaker system

o Resolve any audio-related technical problems that arise during the session

o Log and archive the studio recording.

o Enter all session info into studio calendar and confirm schedule with Head Engineer or Studio Manager

o Handle all session set-up for recording, tear down after each session and assist Head Engineer

with other session-related tasks

o Preliminary Pro Tools session set-up, supervise and troubleshoot "no-Engineer sessions"

o At least, Two years experience in the music industry/ audio administration

o Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel,

o Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills

o Must have familiarity with the recording process and equipment

o Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

o A good ear for pitch, timing, and musical sound

o A high degree of technical competence and excellent knowledge of musical recording technology

o An understanding of standard software (audio) packages and the ability to learn company-specific

software as required.

o Self-starting, resourceful collaborator with a strong ability to identify problems and create solutions

o Attention to detail
